Your Destiny – Part 2 of 4

You cannot look behind you and in front of you at the same time! It is one or another. Your future is in front of you………Jesus is leading you, the devil may be chasing you: but there are guarantees, promises in the Word that tells us: WE WIN.

We find many scriptures in the Torah, the book of the law, which are the first 5 books of the Old Testament that refer to death and dead bodies. There were strict rules about being in the presence of a dead body. In most cases, the person who was around death was banned from the camp for 7 days, and then they had to do ritual bathing then return to the encampment. After 7 days. We see that on the 8th day which signifies a new beginning) Life returns to normal. Leviticus 21:11 He must not enter a place where there is a dead body. He must not make himself unclean, even for his father or mother. This overrides the 10 commandments, or so it seems. The implication is that you do not honor your parents by seeing their dead bodies; you honor them by honoring the way they lived their lives!!

Now we think that the purpose of those laws was just for health reasons which was logical, but let’s take it look deeper, let’s look at what Jesus had to say about the dead. Luke 9:60
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. I AM NOT TEACHING ON DEATH. You see if you are alive: and understand eternal life, dead bodies: the leftovers, the wake of life— is of little interest. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Death and the curse are the same just as life and blessing are the same. God tells us to choose life. YOU DON’T HAVE TO EARN IT: JUST CHOOSE IT. When we are in the presence of death, we grieve, we feel sad and we forget about our future, our destiny. We are focusing on lack and finality and loss. We forget we have eternal life. As a man thinketh, so is he. What we look at, what we hear is what we become. When we look at death, TH E PAST we are drawn into despair. God forbade Israel to take this contagious fear, dread and despair into the camp. Grieve, stay away until the 8th day: new beginning, speak life, bring life and excitement to the camp. The shepherd was protecting his flock!

Death, the cures never saved, healed or delivered anyone!! WHY infect the camp, your life, your family with death? We have been cautioned about the things that enter our eye gate and ear gate…..those things reveal to us the reality of the battle between good and evil which is eternal life and eternal death. It also reminds us that Jesus is not death in any form: he is life……and life everlasting. Acts 2:31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.

We are not our bodies, our bodies are just the shell, the remainder, the wake of a boat…..what is left behind. We are our spirit, we need to look ahead with Jesus as our spirit will be living eternally with Him, He has conquered death!!

Now you may say: well I never come in contact with a dead body. HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO ME? Have you been drawn back to a DEAD relationship? Did it put you back into mourning, into feeling that there is no hope. Is that despair contagious to you friends, family and future? Have you mourned failed (dead business), and said what if, I should have, I wish I could have? Looking and mourning any dead thing paralyzes us from going forward to the life that Jesus has promised us, not only here, but eternally.

Many of us fear snakes, and are terrified about having a poisonous snake bite us. We are sure we will die. But a snake bite will not kill you. It is the poison in the snake that will kill you; it is the same way that fears or bitterness can kill you and kill your destiny. It is not just the injury not what has hurt you or denied you, but the bitterness, the poison that lingers………..THE DEATH that shuts off your motor, the Holy Spirit.

Close up those wounds of the past before the bitterness kills your destiny, before it kills the plans God has for you. We put ourselves in prisons: prisons of fear, bitterness, doubt and regret.……we just have to understand thru Grace: Jesus has set us free. Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

The world promises us death, it whispers to us from outside of the spirit: you won’t make it, you will run out of money: once you stick you neck out, the devil will chop it off. Everyone will laugh at you……and on and on. You will loose everything!!! YOU ARE A FAILURE. Faith is the glue that takes the promise and manifests it. You cannot doubt, YOU CANNOT BE BITTER YOU CANNOT FEAR: that is our biggest fight. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Doubt destroys faith because it is not from God. It is not that faith is fragile, it is powerful, but it cannot exist with sin. Sin is doubt. YOU have the choice. Remember: FAITH IS NOT FRAGILE, it is THE THING THAT CHANGES LIVES,CITIES, STATES AND COUNTRIES.
FAITH IS FORMIDABLE! Faith does not go without you: You must go with faith and be FORMIDBLE in your BELEIF!!! As the voice from the spirit reveals the covenant THE COVENANT OF FAITH: we have not doubt, no fear, we just go…

Have you ever asked yourself: what if I don’t go? What if I just die with a song in my heart? What if I let God down? What if… I can guarantee you were born with gifts and skills and the world is waiting for you to deliver them!!! Exodus31:3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills
The gifts of God were put in us before the foundation of the earth. We need to discover and draw them out. Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Once we say “send me” we are equipped, prepared and the doors are open. How many are truly ready?

When you are on your assignment, it is somewhat like doing a dance. You don’t dance to get across the dance floor: just to arrive at the other side of the floor. You dance for the sake of dancing. You dance for the pleasure of doing. How much more pleasure can you have other than serving God: doing His will for you? Have you ever said: I don’t know how to dance, then just began and found yourself flowing with the music? Just dancing, letting the music direct your path. That is exactly what it is like when you step out on assignment….you flow with the music of the love of Jesus. So don’t go seeking just one result: to only finish your assignment and to hang up your hat, but go enjoying the assignment as perpetual thru this life and the life to come. ENJOY THE TRIP. When you are at a dance, it is a series of many shorter dances. You don’t dance straight thru for 2-3 hours. You dance, enjoy the dance then sit down and take a break, pleased and excited waiting for the next dance!

That is like your assignment. It is not always a straight uphill adventure. You do something, take a break and get revitalized and start again!! When it is finished, you are satisfied!! And eager for the next step!

Another example is going to a concert: do you go just to rush to the end? Are you eager for the finale? Or do you go to enjoy the time listening to the music? Getting lost in the moment, go flowing in gifts of God. I always say you can do life easy or hard…….be in the spirit and do it easy.

What do people see when they look at you? Do they seem someone toiling, under oppression to: have a good marriage, a good job, get a church…..go on a mission trip. Do they see you in stress because it does not happen in your time? Or do they see a lover of Jesus who just basks in His glory, like a leaf in a stream, just going where the stream takes you: having confidence you will end up in the right place. In this way, there is absolutely no concept of failure…….just flowing in the Spirit. You cannot fail because Jesus is not a failure. It is THE form of submission that gives absolute victory.

Get in your lane, never look back. When it is time to go home to Jesus never be in the position to say: I should have done this or that, I wish I would have done so and so….
BUT EXPECT: Matthew 25:21His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Remember in the New Testament: that Jesus only told us once to wait. We can look in the Old Testament and see that many times there were time delays. There were many periods of long waiting. We can look the life of Joseph and David and see delay after delay: yet they remained in faith. These delays were all with one purpose: to usher in the arrival of the Messiah thru Israel.
THE DELAYS were STRATEGIC, not DEMONIC God had to slow down, speed up the destinies of his children. The one of the purposes of the Old Testament. (with all of its trials and successes) was for: THE ARRIVAL OF JESUS THE MESSIAH.
But now He has come!!! There were no delays in His life. He went forward… His destiny. He left us the same charge: John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
We see that Jesus left us in charge and left us to GO. Not to sit! Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Jesus only told us to wait this one time: Acts 1:4-5 4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. We are to wait on the Holy Spirit, and then receive our promise and to Go.
Don’t put out fleece like Gideon, The word says to go and make disciples. Gideon did not know Jesus…… He needed proof, but we have THE PROOF—– WE HAVE: Jesus and we know that he leads us as a Shepherd and we will never go alone. This is the interesting thing: other than to wait on Pentecost: Jesus never told us to sit and wait. He said our directive was AS YOU GO (he expects that we will) not IF but AS…you go. Matthew 10:7-9 7And as ye go, (not as you wait) preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. This for all of us, he does not tell us the manner: pastor, janitor, apostle, school teacher, evangelist, laborer, teacher, lawyer……….He just said to do it and go. Because you have the Holy Spirit: just step out!! People say I know I am called, but what for? Do the above: GO, the methodology is up to you. (Your free will, choose wisely) Just do what God has trained you to do thru His word and use the gifts that are already in you.

A perfect example is I could never be a kindergarten teacher, or work in the children’s church because I have no qualifications, skills or gifts or desire in that area. It would be silly for me to jump in that area when God has given me the gift to speak, preach, pray, do counseling and write. Use your gifts wisely. Father, we thank you for sending your son, so that we do not have to pay the price for our sin, sickness, grief and lack. Thank you that because we receive your Son as our Savior we have everlasting life. Check back next month for part 3 of our 4 part series called: Destiny.
